Salam,
Ever since pulang dari Malaysia,
Momentum PhD Fazira turun sangat-sangat sehingga sampai ke satu tahap, nak GIVE-UP.
Trust me..its actually happened.
I do keep wondering kenapa buat PhD?, kenapa buat PhD?, kenapa buat PhD?.
Siap cakap dekat Mak:
"Mak, tahu tak along nie dari 2001 non-stop belajar tau Mak. Penat pulak rasa".
That the reasons kenapa Fazira kurang sangat berbual dan berbicara about PhD.
Jangan risau, everything when very smoothly at this moment.
Tapi macam-macam due-date kena siap untuk kerja by this February.
Which in calendar looks still a long time, but for a researchers 60 days equal to 6 days only.
But still, rasa nak tidur. Nak malas sentiasa ada saja.
Sekarang hanya satu perkara yang membuat Fazira eager nak habiskan cepat-cepat.
Ingat saja perkara tu, terus rasa malas tu hilang.Rasa nak siapkan cepat PhD membuak-buak.
Its 2012 plan. = ) which dengan harapan no more cyring, sad and sorrow stories.
And I do keep reminding myself:
Don't be a quitter Fazira. Benda bodoh if you be come quitter!.
So now try to get myself back on track.
Biasalah tu, PhD researchers ada sesekali jatuh, tergelincir, tersungkur. Its happened.
And this remind me a very good stories of PhD that I read recently.
He said and remind that:
1. One way to a PhD, its by your own, your own, and your own. No right way to do a PhD. And its different from your degrees and Master. [Betul, benda yg tak pernah belajar time degree, kena belajar seorang diri without any lecturing or tutorial]
2. The unpredictable nature of progress in a PhD means spend a lot of time not sticking to the deadlines you set to yourself. [So trueeeeeeeeeee...cakap Christmas nie tak nak pandang statistic lg, nie still pandang].
3.Loneliness of Long Distance Researcher - [Hanya kita saja yang faham research yg kita buat, explain lah 1000 kali kat orang pun, sorang tak akan faham].
4. A good stress is eating chocolate and socialize with hobby that doesn't related with your research. [Baru cadang nak diet, terus capai M&M and Malteser...yum..yum. Hobby baru plan utk 2012].
In Summary:
*Do not just blithely start doing a PhD because you can't think of anything better to do -- that's what Masters degrees are for.
*Just because you sailed through your undergraduate degree, do not expect to do the same with a PhD.
*Do not expect to enjoy doing a PhD.
*Do expect to go mad.
*If you do enjoy your PhD you're probably mad already.
*If you finish you can tell people that you really have done something that's big and clever.
*Three years is a long time to do something you really, really hate and your life is finite. If you're really not a happy bunny mid-PhD consider dropping it -- worse things happen at sea.
*Make sure you get full support from your department and complain if you don't.
*Try to have some sort of functional life outside your PhD, although this can be surprisingly difficult.
*If all else fails, eat chocolate.
*Eat chocolate anyway.

The only way to do a PhD is to do one. Therefore all advices are useless. And he also said:
